I grew up in Northern Indiana on my grandparents farm as the middle child .  I played football, basketball and baseball year-round through high school.  I went to Indiana State for college and then AT Still University in Missouri for medical school.  I received my pediatric training at Akron Children’s hospital, in Ohio, and spent an additional year there as a Chief Resident. 

After training, my wife Nina and I got married and we moved to Hawaii.  After 4 years, we left Oahu and moved to New Jersey for less than a year before realizing that we missed Hawaii, and that this is where we want to put down roots and raise our children.  We have 2 children, a 6-year-old boy and a 4-year-old daughter.  My wife is also a physician and takes care of hospitalized adults at Kaiser Permanente.
