Welcome to the Oahu Pediatric Group. We are really excited for this opportunity to help take care of all the patients of Dr. Meri-Mika Morisada, who has been a pillar in our community, as well as all the new patients we welcome into our practice.
At Oahu Pediatric Group, we are committed to providing:
I grew up in Northern Indiana on my grandparents farm as the middle child . I played football, basketball and baseball year-round through high school. I went to Indiana State for college and then AT Still University in Missouri for medical school. I received my pediatric training at Akron Children’s hospital, in Ohio, and spent an additional year there as a Chief Resident.
After training, my wife Nina and I got married and we moved to Hawaii. After 4 years, we left Oahu and moved to New Jersey for less than a year before realizing that we missed Hawaii, and that this is where we want to put down roots and raise our children. We have 2 children, a 6-year-old boy and a 4-year-old daughter. My wife is also a physician and takes care of hospitalized adults at Kaiser Permanente.
I am a board certified pediatrician and fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and have spent my career taking care of children, both in the clinic and in the hospital. I love what I do. As your pediatrician, I want to be a part of your team, helping your child reach their maximum potential.
Outside of medicine, I enjoy hiking and going to the beach with my family and gardening/yard work. We love traveling and trying new restaurants. I am also a lifelong Buffalo Bills, Houston Rockets and Atlanta Braves fan, so you’ll see me cheering for them throughout the year.
I am a board-certified pediatrician and adolescent medicine specialist, with a strong commitment to providing compassionate and expert care to children across the island. I am also a proud fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Born and raised in Hawaii, I am a local boy who graduated from Maryknoll High School before going on to earn my degree with honors from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. I completed my pediatric residency through the University of Hawaii Pediatrics Residency Program, where I was honored to serve as the chief resident of my class and graduated with Alpha Omega Alpha honors, a distinction that recognizes excellence in scholarship and the highest ideals in the medical profession.
I have extensive experience working in the Kapiolani NICU as a neonatal hospitalist and am known for my dedication to newborn care. To my knowledge, I am the only pediatrician on the island who provides regular newborn care at all three of Hawaii’s major hospitals—Castle, Kapiolani, and Queens. Outside of my professional accomplishments, I am a devoted family man, living with my wife and three children. My passion for both my family and my work makes me a trusted and respected figure in the local medical community.
